In the past, we’ve had to turn off the comments on the site or have them moderated because of a large number of troll posts. Hopefully we’re past that and can use the Comments function on this page to answer any (reasonable) questions you might have.
So, when asking a question, please try to be comprehensive. We don’t want to have the same person asking a dozen little questions in a row.
As to what kind of questions to ask and what not to ask: please use common sense.
The following types of questions will be disregarded by default:
- If you have a question about playback, this is not the correct venue in which to ask. Please check out our “Playback” section.
- Also please do not ask when episode XX of show Y will come out. We are as aware of delays as you are, if not moreso. However, if you have questions about the fansubbing process in general, go ahead, I guess.
- Do not ask whether we can do series Z. Chances are we won’t be able to help you, and if we could, this wouldn’t be the right place to ask.

hey guys i love your sub work but i just ran into the issue when i try and watch some of your shugo chara eps it will freeze for a second then the voices and the animation wont match up. i know your under staffed and im sorry if this has been answered someone else i was just wondering if theres anyway i could fix it. thanks again

Are you all native speakers of English or Japanese? If English, then how many years of schooling did you need to get the level of proficiency where you can hash out these (impressive) translations? I am in Japanese level 2 at my college and I kind of want to gauge how long until I can do this sort of thing/understand the raw versions of anime.

I was just wondering why Formula hasn’t subbed season two of Moonlight Mile? You guys did an absolutely amazing job with the first season, and any sub group that has picked up the second season has dropped it after only a few episodes.
It is truly a shame that such an amazing series is stalled part way through. Anyways, thank you for your tireless work!

@CrystalNite: Our last two translators are native Japanese-speakers who know several languages due to their personal circumstances.
@jfaerr: We have not been able to find a translator. I very actively looked for someone or a joint group a while ago. An active group came forward and wanted to joint on it, but the project sat for over a year with no progress.

I’ve been using CCCP for a long time now and along with it, Media Player Classic. It can play subtitles normally, but for some reason, it isn’t playing your subtitles (specifically, on the new Tales of Symphonia Tethe’alla Chapter episode).
I uninstalled all other codecs and I’ve tried everything to view your subs, but to no avail. Think I could get a quick push in the right direction? Thanks in advance.
Hey do you guys plan to sub the Tales of Vesperia movie when it gets released? I know you have to wait for a raw and everything, but I havn’t seen any groups mention subbing it and i really hope someone does it. Thought you guys might since you did tales of symphonia. I believe the dvd and blu ray releases on the 28th in japan.
We are not, but I do know of a group that has plans to do it.

I’m having a problem with the latest Tales of Symphonia episode that I didn’t have with the other ones. I’m trying to convert them with “All to Avi” so I can convert from there to my iPod, but about 10 seconds into the conversion with this episode a “mencoder.exe has stopped working” window pops up and All to Avi crashes. This doesn’t happen with the other episodes, I’ve tried to convert episode one again and it worked fine. This new one seems to not want to convert. and I’m wondering if you guys know what the problem is or if someone else has the same problem as I’d like to get it into a different file format.
Unless there’s another free converter program that I can use…
